The Story of Rio Joe's


Rio Joe's is about the legend of Joe Wilson. Joe Wilson, who became known as Rio Joe to his friends, along with a small group of U.S. Army Special Forces was stationed in Rio de Janeiro during WWII to monitor and sabotage enemy covert spying operations in Brazil. Joe was a born leader. As a captain, he was the ranking officer of the group, and became a legend with his troops and the people who got to know him. His exploits, with friends and foes, became legendary.

After WWII, Joe did not want to come back to the U.S. and instead wanted to stay in Brazil and Live the Life as he put it. He had made a lot of friends in Brazil during the four years that he was there, and had traveled extensively throughout Brazil, the rest of South America, Central America, the Caribbean region and Mexico.


Rio Joe's is the legacy of Joe Wilson.
